The District Education Office, Tuensang conducted the Teachers’ Day celebration at Town Hall, Tuensang on 5th September 2022 with Deputy Commissioner Tuensang, Kumar Ramnikant, IAS as the guest of honour.
Speaking on the occasion Ramnikant said teaching is one field which is immortal in nature where no other services or jobs can achieve such tag. He said students can achieve great heights in life and the credit goes to the teachers and added that teachers play an important role in transforming the society. He stated that the students coming to stage to perform with utmost discipline is a reflection of the teachers’ sincerity and he also compared such discipline to that of the officers in the district. He also challenged the gathering to do away with proxy teachers so that such activity will not overshadow the dedication and hard work of the sincere and committed teachers. He also encouraged the teachers and society leaders that a lot more has to be done to achieve the desired results for the district. He also exhorted the students to listen and learn what the teachers are teaching them for a successful future. He also asked the students to keep away from bad companies and substances which are very prevalent in the society.
The programme witnessed special number by Loyem Memorial School, ode to teachers by Wela Foundation School and GMS Post Office and honouring of teachers was performed by GHSS Thangjam.
The Deputy Commissioner also gave away the District Teachers Awards to Aheli Sema, HT, GHS Chingmelen; M. Akumba Chang, PT, GPS Yonyu; Mutsoi Khaimniungan, Asst. Teacher, Green View School, Longkhim and Natimanlu Chang, Asst. Teacher, Baptist Thangyen Hr.Sec.School.
L. Mukamchim John DEO Tuensang gave the welcome address while Kibangsangla ADEO Tuensang delivered the vote of Thanks. K. Hekamla, Lecturer DIET Tuensang chaired the programme.
