The inauguration programme of Tening Town Hall and Tening Sub-divisional Horticulture Office was held at Tening town on 5th August 2022.

The Sub-Divisional Horticulture Office was inaugurated by Advisor, Horticulture and Border Affairs, Mhathung Yanthan, who was the Special Guest, while the Town Hall was inaugurated by Special Host, Advisor, Water Resources, Namri Nchang. 

Advisor Mhathung Yanthan while speaking at the inaugural programme, mentioned that Tening area people are fortunate to have achieved the establishment of Sub-divisional Horticulture Office,  and urged the gathering to make use of the facilities provided by the Government and said that the Government of the day is focusing mainly on agricultural sectors to uplift the society. The Advisor also spoke on the importance of climate change, progressive people, system of farming and adaptation. He also added that Peren district is a potential area where many kinds of vegetable can be grown, and encouraged the gathering to work harder even in the coming days.

Advisor Namri Nchang who also spoke at the programme, advised the gathering to focus more in the fields of farming so as to not waste the fertile lands. He informed that the newly inaugurated Town Hall will be managed and looked after by the Administration for the area people.

Other who spoke at the programme included Director of Horticulture, Dr. R. Elithung Lotha and Commissioner & Secretary, Horticulture and Women Resource Development, Anenla T. Sato, IAS.

The inauguration programme was chaired by EAC Tening, Imliwabang Aier, while ADC Tening, Tokai V. Sumi delivered the welcome address. Tening Town Women Welfare Organisation performed the cultural dance and Voice of the Hill Band presented a special number. The programme ended with a vote of thanks proposed by Ex Vice-Chairman, Adhoc Town Committee, Lungchui.
