Sensitization on ‘Tobacco use and its harmful effects on human’ was held at Wangkhao Government College Mon on 25th October 2022 by District Tobacco Control Cell Mon.

The resource person, District Nodal Officer, NTCP Mon, Dr. I. Simon Sumi highlighted on the type of tobacco consumption such as smoke and smokeless form. He also stressed on the importance of sensitizing the people on harmful effects of second-hand and third-hand smoking, exposure to which, has immediate harmful effects on the heart and blood vessels, and can cause coronary heart disease and stroke. He urged the students not to fall into tobacco addiction but rather to spread the message.

A short video clip on ‘Tobacco’ was also screened at the end of the programme.
