In Tobu ADC Headquarter, the 80th Indian Independence Day was celebrated with Additional Deputy Commissioner Tobu, L. Samuel as the special guest at local ground, Tobu on 15th of August 2026. The Special Guest hoisted the national flag, read out the Independence Day speech, and took Rashtriya Salute from 9 parade contingents consisting of the 6th NAP, NVG Tobu Village, NSS Tobu, Newman Higher Secondary School (Boys), Newman Higher Secondary School (Girls), Bejing High School (Boys), Bejing High School (Girls), Government Higher Secondary School (Boys) and Government Higher Secondary School (Girls).

Hoisting of National Flag in all Government offices, Educational Institutions, Private Buildings, Shops and Business Establishment; Singing of National Anthem by GHSS, Tobu, March Past by the Parade Contingents; Special Number by Jatom Konyak; Patriotic Drill Display by Tobu Town Students’ Union; Cultural Folk Dance by KNSK Tobu unit; Inauguration of the Exhibition Stalls by the Special Guest; and Men’s Tug of War Competition by all the 9 wards were the highlights of the daylong celebration.

The program was attended by Government employees, NGOs, Civil Societies, Public leaders and the general public of Tobu and surrounding villages.
