Leader of Opposition, T.R. Zeliang visited CHC Jalukie on 20th April, 2020 to observe the available resources and facilities and also to monitor the preparedness of the district against COVID-19.

CMO Peren, Dr. Dennis Hangsing in his brief report highlighted the district preparedness and the action plan against the global pandemic, Novel Corona Virus (COVID-19) wherein he asserted, as and when COVID-19 suspect sample result turns out to be positive, CHC Jalukie will be converted into COVID-19 Hospital and all general OPD and all essential functions of CHC will cease while Annie Nursing Home, Jalukie town and Samziuram Sub-center are to be use in the treatment of general patients suffering from other ailments than that of COVID-19 cases.

CMO also reported, those patients discharged from Zion Hospital, Dimapur are kept at JNV Hostel under facility quarantine and so far a total no. of 11 samples have been sent for testing and all turns out to be negative.

During the interaction with Medical Doctors &Nurses, District Administration and NGOs at CHC Conference Room, T.R. Zeliang commented priority must be given to Doctors and Nurses since they are the one who work closely with patients and are at an increased risk, therefore, they have to be provided with the best equipments for their safety while dealing with the patients. He also requested CMO Peren to crosscheck the equipments supplied to the district.

Later, T.R Zeliang also inspected the COVID hospital and Personal Protective Equipments (PPEs) received from the Government.
