District Cultural Office, Mon organized Tribal Festival under the theme 'Igniting Cultural Traditions' on 30th September 2022 at Town Council Hall, Mon.

DC Mon, Ajit Kumar Verma, IAS emphasized the importance of culture in way of life and for sustainable development.

District Cultural Officer, Mon, Peter Thanghoi Thai encouraged the participants to preserve and promote the rich cultural heritage. He urged the young artists to keep up the tradition of their forefathers.

Artists from Wangkhao Government College, Mon Vale College, Konjong Higher Secondary School, and Jahjon Ward Youth performed. Log drum dragging ceremonies, gun powder making exhibitions, a war dance, and folklore recitations were some of the items performed.

A vote of thanks was delivered by Assistant Research Officer, W. Kaiwang Konyak.

A host of dignitaries and civil society leaders attended the festival.
