Tuensang District Task Force for COVID-19 had a review meeting with all the tribal leaders at DC’s conference hall on 12th May 2020. The meeting was chaired by Deputy Commissioner Tuensang, Kumar Ramnikant.

The meeting updated on the institutional quarantine centres of the district and the number of individuals coming from outside the states. The forum discussed management of the incoming individuals on tribal lines, and the tribal volunteers will be helping the administration, police and medical following all the guidelines and regulations. The tribal line quarantine centres shall be; for Chang community two institutional quarantine centres at Tuensang Town, for Khiamniungan one at Tuensang HQ and one at Noklak, for Sangtam one at Chari and one at Tuensang and for Yimchunger one at Tuensang HQ and one at Shamator. The House also decided to call each and every individuals staying out of state and planning to come back to Tuensang and review their opinions on coming and staying in the quarantine centres.

The house also discussed to appeal for one more window period to government to bring back the stranded people in distress to come back to the home district.

The timing for shopping in the district is also amended to open from 7:00 AM in the morning till 2:00 PM in order to avoid rushing in the market places and to maintain the social distancing in proper manner.

The house also decided to come up with an official appeal to the rent owner of the district to slash the monthly rent of the tenants on the humanitarian ground basing on the ongoing emergencies.
