A reception programme in honour of Union Minister for Health & Family Welfare, Science & Technology and Earth Science, Dr. Harsh Vardhan and his lady wife was held on 27th February 2021 at Kohima village council Hall.

Dr. Harsh said that it is an honour and privilege for him to visit the second biggest village in Asia with the beautiful landscape, favourable climate and to interact with Naga people. He mentioned that the Government under the leadership of Prime Minister, Modi is seriously working with complete focus for the upliftment of the poor people and to develop the North Eastern region at par with other develop states of India. Many new schemes which are required for the development of the region has been taken up and  the completed ones now has starting to bear good results and many more such  new projects are in the pipe line which will be taken up as per the requirements of the region for the benefit of the people, he stated.

The Union Minister added that it was the able leadership, timely intervention and guidance of our Prime Minister Modi that the covid 19 pandemic could be tackled well for which the international community appreciated India for taking the leading role. He informed that the representation which was submitted by the Kohima village council to him is noted and will study once he reaches Delhi and will take into considerations the things which are required for implementation. 

Chairman Kohima Village Council, Helievio Solo in his remark expressed profound gratitude to the Union Minister and his Lady wife for visiting their village and requested the Union Minister for early completion of the ongoing Medical college construction for improvement of health care system in Nagaland.
