In order to review and assess various development projects and schemes implemented under “Aspirational District” programme at Kiphire, Union Minister for Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying, GoI, Parshottam Rupala, accompanied by Advisor, Fisheries & Aquatic Resources, Evaluation Economics and Statistics, L. Khumo, officials from Delhi and Kohima visited Kiphire district and held interaction with the Heads of Offices and stakeholders of various departments at DC's Conference Hall, Kiphire on 21st October 2022.

DC, Kiphire, T. Wati Aier informed that the district is currently ranked at 9th position in the Delta Ranking of the Aspiration Districts.

The Union Minister, thanking the officials for the warm welcome, stressed that he had come to witness an authentic attempt and to review the aspirational scheme. Prime Minister, Narendra Modi had selected Kiphire District as “Aspirational District,” so the people must know their living standards and how far the district is improving.

He stated that their aim is to focus on the strength of each district to grow together with all the developmental aspects for all. He urged the departments to work harder so that more beneficiaries will be covered and assisted, and requested the Fishery Officer to provide assistance as demanded by the beneficiaries.

The Union Minister was also apprised on the challenges and difficulties faced by the people of Kiphire due to bad road connectivity.

Departmental presentation was delivered by the District Fishery Officer and Chief Veterinary Officer, wherein they highlighted about the activities and how the beneficiaries are getting assistance from the various schemes. PowerPoint Presentations were delivered by Health & Family Welfare Department, PHED and Education Department. The programme was chaired by ADC HQ, Kiphire, D. Robin.
