The Department of Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Services conducted a vaccination camp on Classical Swine Fever at Nerhe Model Village on 12th August 2021 under Chiephobozou Block, Kohima.

VAS Vety, Dispensary, Chiephobozou Kohima, Dr. Vikuolie Mezhatsu informed that vaccination was carried out by VAS and staff of Vety. Dispensary, Chiephobozou, VS and staff of Veterinary Hospital Kohima and four Internees from CAU, College of Veterinary Sciences & A.H, Jalukie and one internee from Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Veterinary Education and research, Puducherry. A total number of 101 pigs were vaccinated against Classical Swine Fever on the day.

The Nerhe Model Village Council has extended its gratitude and appreciation to the department, particularly the officers and staff of Vety. Dispensary, Chiephobozou, Vety. Hospital Kohima, internees and CVO, Kohima for not only carrying out vaccination but also creating awareness among the livestock farmers.

The Council further appealed to the department to conduct such programs and assist the farmers in near future as most of the farmers depend solely on animal husbandry for their livelihood.
