District Task Force on COVID-19, Noklak conducted a COVID-19 vaccine sensitisation programme at Town Hall Thonoknyu HQ on 26th November 2021 under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner & Chairman DTF on Covid19, Noklak, Hiazu Meru.
Hiazu Meru urged upon the citizens of Thonoknyu Town and villagers of Thonoknyu sub-divisional to come out of rumours and hesitancy of Covid-19 vaccination and requested them to come forward to take the vaccine. He informed that, door to door vaccination drive has been launched in the District and requested all the eligible persons to take the vaccine before the festive season of Christmas. Together we can achieve100 % Covid-19 vaccination in the district, Meru added while encouraging the gathering on the various benefits of getting the jab.
Senior Medical Officer, District Hospital, Noklak, Dr. Victor NC explained about Covid-19 vaccine and advised the gathering to take the vaccine. Immunity of one's health is very important and on this, Dr. Victor share on how to improve immunity in order to live healthy. Dr. Victor urge upon the leaders not hesitate in taking the COVID-19 vaccination and sought co-operation from Thonoknyu Town and every villages under Thonoknyu sub-division for the successful completion of vaccination.
Chairing the programme, SDO (Civil) Noklak, C. Phuniang requested all the citizens under Thonoknyu HQ to come forward and speed up the ongoing vaccination to be in the safer side keeping in mind the availability of poor health facilities in the District as a whole.
VDB Secretary, Peshu Nyukya Village shared a success story during the meeting on being the first village in the District to achieved cent percent vaccination.
Words of gratitude was delivered by SDO (C) Thonoknyu, L. Mongo. Meanwhile, free medical camp was also conducted at DBs court Thonoknyu HQ by District Hospital, Noklak and Integrated Ayush Hospital, Noklak in collaboration with the District Administration, Noklak. Citizens of Thonoknyu Town and neighbouring villages availed free medical treatment and Covid-19 vaccination during the medical camp.
Later, Deputy Commissioner, Hiazu Meru along with officers visited SDO(C), Thonoknyu office where they had a brief interaction with the staff and DB. The DC also advised the DBs of Thonoknyu to observe customary laws and requested to maintain law and order.
