The valedictory programme for Film & Television Institute of India (FTII) training was held at the Directorate of Information & Public Relations, Nagaland on 10th August 2022.
Advisor IPR & Village Guards S Keoshu Yimkhiung speaking at the program said that this kind of training is very important and is happy to see the enthusiasm and response of the participants. He added that if such training are held regularly by the department and the younger generation makes good use of the opportunity it will go a long way in molding their career.
Secretary IPR Maria Yanthan, exhorting the gathering, encouraged the participants to explore their creative side and focus less on getting government jobs. She also said that Nagas are very talented and asked the youths to venture out from their comfort zone and flourish in their chosen fields. She also expressed her happiness about the successful completion of the first phase of the training conducted by the department.
Joint Director Asangla Imsong, sharing the overview of the programme, said that the online training was conducted as part of the countrywide celebration under Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav of the Government of India through the Google meet platform from January to June 2022. She also highlighted, in brief, the profiles and topics of the resource persons for Smartphone filmmaking by Ajmal Jami, screenplay writing by Sudipto Acharyya, screen acting by Anita Salim, and Film appreciation by Avinash Roy and Jasmine Kaur Roy. She further informed that the second phase of the training will be held eventually.
Takumpula, Arienba Jamir, Kikrupfelie Neikha, and Tiakumzuk shared their experiences in smartphone filmmaking, screenplay writing, and screen acting and appreciation course.
A total of 51 certificates were issued to all the participants by FTII upon successful completion of the training. A short film was screened during the program which was directed and produced by the trainees.
