The programme for Vocational course in the Agri and Allied sector was formally launched at Living Bible College Ayinato, Vihokhu on 21st November 2022. Y. Kikheto Sema, IAS Agriculture Production Commissioner graced the inaugural programme as the Special Guest.
He stated that out of many functions he had opportunities to be part of it, this was the most unique function. He applauded the college for taking the initiative to incorporate the vocational aspect of sustainability for the environment. He challenged the students and church leaders to integrate the holistic approach of “Work and Eat” culture both within the church and in theological education. He said, “the soil, land and environment are crying out for help, for humans to be responsible." He maintained that the church and government should come together to create a more sustainable ecosystem, economy, and climate condition.
He said the plan to lease out our department farms to the FPOs, FPCs, entrepreneurs, churches, etc to take up the farming activities in a sustainable manner is being considered. State Government departments cannot do farming or business that was not found feasible and viable but provide logistic support.
