As part of the weeklong North East festival in commemoration of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, Walkathon was held at Kohima on 30th April 2022.

Addressing the participants, DC Kohima, Gregory Thejawelie said that various events have been organised all over the North Eastern states, where it would be held under different themes, In Sikkim, the program would be held under the theme  “The Smart City”; Shillong on “Entrepreneur development”; Arunachal under the theme “Development of tribals and the Border areas” and  so on. He also mentioned that State Government will be hosting an event, focusing to promote on Agriculture, Horticulture and organic farming, which would be held on 2nd May 2022 at Agri Expo, Dimapur and requested all to participate in the programme. The DC thanked the participants from NSS, NCC, NYKS for taking part in the occasion.

The walkathon race started at PHQ Junction and culminated at DC Office, Kohima.  Welcome speech was delivered by State NSS Officer, Zeneikho-o Benedict and Vote of thnks by YRO, Viruokuo Zumu. The event was organised by Kohima District Administration
