The monthly District Planning & Development Board meeting for Wokha district was held on the 10th October 2025, in the presence of Deputy Chief Minister & chairman DPDB Wokha, Y. Patton, Advisor for Agriculture, Mhathung Yanthan and MLA, Y. M. Humstoe.

While appreciating the sincere and dedicated efforts of DC Wokha and DPDB members to host the 1st ever Banana Festival scheduled from 22nd to 24th October 2025, Patton advised for extending invitation to all the HoDs and Ministers of Agri. and Allied departments.

Mhathung Yanthan emphasised the vital role of Liaison officers in ensuring proper care and coordination for guests, dignitaries, scientists and officials from National institutes from outside the state, who will be arriving for the upcoming Banana Festival at Wokha. He highlighted that the dedicated efforts of LOs would contribute significantly towards building a positive image of the district. Yanthan further informed that he has reached out to some renowned companies who have shown their interest to display their high tech tools and machineries, seeds, manures etc if the host district extends logistic support including accommodation. MLA, Y.M. Humstoe also lauded and appreciated the efforts of all the committees under the leadership of DC Wokha for their efforts and ensure that   the upcoming Banana festival would be celebrated in a grand manner.

DC Wokha, Vineet Kumar, IAS while giving a review of the Banana festival, informed that more than 100 stalls with participants from within and outside the state would showcase the diversity of bananas and banana products, reinforcing Wokha's status as the banana hub of Nagaland. More than 20 varieties of banana will be displayed during the festival, he added. DC Wokha further informed that more than 30 premier technical institutions and marketing bodies from across the country will be conducting workshop, demonstrations and farmers trainings. Vineet Kumar also informed that several institutes have confirmed their support and participation.

Lotha Eloe Hoho President, Thungbeni Ngully informed that Miss Wokha 2025 will be staged on the 3rd November 2025 and felt it deem fit to be incorporated in the DPDB Wokha, as is being done in other districts. She requested all the members to come forward and help the LEH while acknowledging the support extended by individuals and various organisations.

Other highlights of the meeting included power point presentation by DAPCU highlighting the data of HIV scenario of Wokha district, while the DEO Wokha highlighted on the Demerger of Government Primary School upper NST.

Land resource and Labour departments presented their PowerPoint highlighting on the activities and projects of their departments in the district. The meeting ended with a note of thanks from the chair.
