The monthly District Planning and Development Board (DPDB) meeting took place at the Deputy Commissioner Conference Hall in Wokha. The meeting was presided over by Deputy Commissioner & Vice Chairman of DPDB Wokha, Ajit Kumar Ranjan IAS on 18th August 2023.

The session commenced with introductions of new DPDB members, including Project Director DRDA Narola Imsong, Assistant Mechanical Engineer Er. Renpithung Z Murry, and Sub-Divisional Officer (Housing) Er. Kikrosal Mekhro.

Reviewing the minutes of the previous meeting, the Deputy Commissioner reminded departments that had not yet submitted action plans and detailed reports for the four aspirational villages in Wokha district to do so promptly.

With the upcoming 50th Golden Jubilee celebration scheduled for December 2023, the committee members were informed about the constitution of committees for the event. The Deputy Commissioner also conveyed that departments would be assigned specific tasks and appealed for cooperation to ensure the success of the jubilee.

Discussing the status of the Comprehensive Health Management Information System (CHMIS) in Wokha district, the DC stressed the need to enhance its coverage to reach 100%. All departments were urged to intensify efforts to achieve this target.

Chief Medical Officer, Wokha, Dr. Zuben Kikon, highlighted the DENGUE situation in the district. Wokha reported 10 positive cases, with 9 from Merapani area and 1 from Wokha town out of 52 tested cases. The DC urged the Medical department to increase testing rates and maintain ample stocks of medicines and essentials for preventive measures.

Lastly, the Deputy Commissioner underscored the importance of regular attendance at DPDB meetings. Absences without prior leave would be taken seriously.
