The monthly Wokha District Planning & Development Board meeting was held on 12th Oct 2022 at Deputy Commissioner Conference Hall, Wokha. The meeting was conducted by V/chairman Wokha DPDB and Deputy Commissioner, Ajit Kumar Ranjan IAS. The board also welcomed new member Addl. S.P Wokha K. Soriso.

Chairman Wokha DPDB and Advisor for Law & Justice, Dr. Chumben Murry, in his opening remark, said all the Heads of Offices in the district should make it mandatory to attend the DPDB meeting without fail as all important deliberations and decisions are taken through this august house for the welfare and benefit of the district.

During the meeting the following agendas were discussed and approved and recommended to the government for necessary action, Registration of societies for Wokha Town Wokhae Ekhung, the establishment of a Sub-Centre at New Wokha village and the board also approved for establishment and creation of New Assistant Public Relations Officers Office (APRO) at Sanis ADC Headquarter.

The DPR (proposal) submitted by AUDO (Urban Development), Wokha for the improvement of circular roads from “Forest Junction” to “High School Junction” via PWD-Fish market, Etsuchukha-Jonsulan to NST Junction amounting to Rs. 3.78 crore approximate measuring about 4 Kms was also approved by the board for recommendation to a higher authority.

Dr. Chumben while reacting to the PowerPoint presentation offered by DUDO & Administration Wokha Town Council (WTC) urged the Urban Development department to work in coordination with WTC and start executing plans for the naming of the roads/Lanes within the Wokha town area.

Dr. Chumben while thanking the Postal services Wokha Branch for highlighting their activities in the district, said that in modern times Postal Services are very important, yet Wokha district is lacking behind to meet the aspiration of the district whereby he urged the department to improve their delivery system/service for the benefit of the people.
