Wokha District Planning & Development Board (DPDB) has decided to request the State Government for establishing Modern Slaughter House during the DPDB meeting held on 18th January 2023 at DC’s conference hall, Wokha.
The meeting was chaired by Deputy Commissioner & Vice Chairman, DPDB Wokha, Ajit Kumar Ranjan, IAS. During the meeting, the house discussed on registration of ESEN Electrical Society, report on slaughter house, review of CMHIS for Wokha district and preparedness of the forthcoming election.
Chief Veterinary Officer, Wokha, Dr. Mhonchan Shitiri, while highlighting status of slaughter house in Wokha town, suggested that slaughter house should be situated away from residential area with good facilities for hygiene. He also said that as per the direction of the DPDB, a committee has been constituted with ADC & Administrator Wokha Town Council, CVO, CMO and FSO Wokha with the purpose to verify the status of slaughter house in the town area. Accordingly, the team inspected the slaughter house in an around Wokha town and has suggested the following points, relocation of the present slaughter house and lairage away from residential area, regulation of transportation, animal slaughter licensing and meat inspection, regulation of meat scale counter. The committee also suggested that the district needs to have modern slaughter house, where the board members deliberated on the matter and decided to request the State government for establishing of modern slaughter house in the district.
On review of CMHIS for Wokha district, the DC said those departments who are yet to register are informed to do so at the earliest for the benefit of all the government employees. While briefing the members for the forthcoming election, Ranjan stated once the election are announced, the election Mode of Conduct will be enforced, where all departments heads and staff will be assigned with various responsibilities to be carried out for the smooth conduct of the election. He also urged all concerned to gear up to ensure that there is no laxity on the part of the employees while in the process of executing election related activities.
He stated that, the target is to ensure that there should be No-Violence and No-Re-poll in the district during the forthcoming election. The DC also warned that no government servants/employees are not to take part or engage in any election activity in promotion of a particular candidate. He added lapses on the part of government employees during the election process will be dealt seriously and action will be initiated, zero tolerance against those erring employees where he urged all to perform their assigned responsibilities with outmost dedication.
