Wokha District Planning Development Board Meeting Cum Advent Christmas Celebration held on 12th December 2022 at Hammock Resort, New Wokha village.
DC & V/Chairman DPDB Wokha, Ajit Kumar Ranjan (IAS) conducted the meeting. The board during the meeting entrusted the following departments, Health & Family Welfare, Veterinary, and Animal Husbandry, Wokha Town Council/ District Administration to submit an action taken report on the hygiene of slaughters house under Wokha town in the next meeting.
Advisor Law & Justice and Chairman DPDB Wokha, Dr. Chumben Murry in his chairman remark said that there is a lot of slaughterhouse under Wokha town but not even a single one is running hygienically, there are certain guidelines that needed to be followed as far as meat shops are concerned, whereby he entrusted the Department of Health & Family Welfare, Veterinary and Animal Husbandry and District Administration to conduct a joint meeting and to come up with a definite plan for improvement.
Advisor IT, & T & NRE Mmhonlumo Kikon, while speaking on the human-elephant conflict in the district, he said that in the district where there are reports of loss of human lives, properties, cash crops, and plantations where he said that those affected should be compensated through livelihood projects and other schemes set up by the government.
Mt. Tiyi College also requested the board for financial assistance for putting up of ceiling for the general administrative building which the board discussed on the agenda and forwarded the same to the concerned authority for consideration.
The board also observed the advent Christmas celebration, Associate Pastor WTBC, Zurenthung Humtsoe delivered a message on the importance of Christmas.
Christmas greetings was also delivered by Advisor Mmhonlumo Kikon, Dr. Chumben Murry, DC Ajit Kumar Ranjan, and a special number was presented by Lobeno Tungoe and Libemo Jami DSCO. Invocation prayer was offered by President Lotha Eloe Hoho Thungbeni Ngullie, the programme was chaired by District Planning Officer Y. Orenbomo Lotha.
