Artisans from the Chakhesang community, Mhaseveyi Phesao, 26 years old, and Nusakho Swuro, 30 years old, hailing from Chozuba under the Phek district, demonstrated their carving of the iconic house emblems symbolizing the stature of the individual as a feast giver, held at the Naga Artisans’ Meet, World War-II Museum Kisama, on 7th December 2022.
Mhaseveyi, an unemployed graduate in the Arts stream from C-Edge College Dimapur and Nusakho Swuro started carving of Warriors Craftwood as Mithun, Tigers, etc. in 2015. Both are currently working under the owner of Craftwood, Veswuzo Phesao. They sell their Naga cultural and traditional designs and decorative crafts according to the size, with some products being sold for Rs. 2,00,000/- and above.
Many tourist visitors including school children from different institutions led by their teachers and faculty members also witnessed the event.
