Along with the rest of the world, Kiphire District conducted World AIDS Day on 1st December 2021 at Conference hall, District Hospital Kiphire under the Theme: "End Inequalities, End AIDS, End Pandemics".

The program started with one minute of silence for those who have lost their lives to AIDS.

Delivering on the significance of the Day, Tsiatsuvi, DPO- DAPCU said among all the awareness, HIV/AIDS related awareness is one of the longest running awareness program in the world. She urged all the apex leaders to encourage and support those people living with HIV/ AIDS to disseminate information on availability of medical services provided by the H&FW department.

Rev. Fr. Dr. Joe Mariadhas said Nagaland is one of the fastest growing HIV/AIDS states. Even in Kiphire District, there are lots of people living with HIV but don’t reveal the truth to the family members and love ones, he urged those people to come forward and collectively fight against it to live a healthy life. He advocated sex education to be taught in the schools so that the young people can be safe. People are aware of the HIV still then they hesitate to avail the services because of discrimination from the family and society so he urged the leaders to show love, patience and affection and stand up as one and fight against HIV/ AIDS.

Special presentation was given by RRC, Loyola Hr Sec School and Khupai DLN gave  a short speech about her life testimony.

Later felicitation of New India@75 (phase) competition were awarded to the winners with certificate by the special guest.
