Longleng observed “World Day Against Child Labour” on 12th June 2023. The programme was held at Educational Block Resource Centre (EBRC) hall under the theme “Week of Action Against Child Labour”.

B. Bauom Phom from One Stop Centre delivered the welcome address. She encouraged the women to inform those women in need of the services provided at OSC Longleng, she urged every woman to voice out against any form of violence bravely.

Mano Phom, President Phomla Hoichem said the world must fight against child labor, she encouraged the women folk not to send their children to other places on false promises of education, the children instead face physical, verbal, and mental violence and in many places, children are also deprived of their basic rights. She requested every individual to take up the responsibility to educate the people against child labor.

Trongdiba Sangtam, SDO(C) Hq. Longleng, Nodal Officer to BBBP & One Stop Centre spoke on the theme “Week of Activism against Child Labour”. He disseminated information on the International Labour Organization (ILO). He encouraged the gathering that every individual should be responsible for spreading awareness at the grassroots level about Child Labour. He added that, as parents, he/she should be responsible and capable of looking after their children. He also spoke about the upliftment of girl children under BBBP and spread awareness on issues of inequalities faced by girl children. Since its implementation, he stated that Longleng district has a good report on BBBP and there is also an increase in the sex ratio of females and most importantly drastic improvement in the field of education.

Earlier Chingkumtenla, Women President Agri Ward pronounced the invocation and the programme was chaired by Nyangyungsangla.
