Along with the rest of the World, Tuensang District observed World Malaria Day on 25th April 2023 at CMO Conference Hall Tuensang on the Theme 'Time to deliver zero Malaria, Invest, Innovate Implement '.

In the function, Nokchasashi Deputy Commissioner Tuensang appreciated the Health & Family Welfare Department for their hard work in saving the lives of many people in the District. He also added that since there is only one hospital in the District, manpower needs to be rationalized due to the shortage of Staff. As Malaria is under the elimination phase, the Deputy Commissioner encouraged the Medical staff led by CMO to Continue working hard to achieve Zero Malaria in the District.

In the programme, the significance of World Malaria Day was presented by Dr. Alemba R. Jamir, Sr. Specialist District Hospital Tuensang. Dr. Jamir addressed the status of Malaria in the District and also shared the importance of case-control in the district. The vote of thanks was delivered by Dr. Keveduyi Theyo CMO Tuensang, the function was chaired by Yimliyangla Ong, VBD consultant. Felicitation for best ASHA in the District was awarded to Akum from Sangsangnyu Village, Tonching Yangmai from Hakchang Village, and Imtitula from Alisopur Village. The programme was attended by Tribal Bodies, representatives from all wards, and staff from the department.
