Peren District observed World Malaria Day cum District Taskforce meeting on 25th April 2023 at DC’s Conference Hall New Peren Headquarters.
Deputy Commissioner Peren Vineet Kumar IAS DC cum Chairman DTF (IMEP-2) welcomeD and encouraged the gathering to constantly support the district task force. DC said as the district observed World Malaria Day with the rest of the world, the district should work consistently to reduce it to zero level. He also encouraged not to lower guard but to take prevention as guidelines given by the Department. DC also apprised all the departments to take precaution manner their surrounding offices. He also appreciated the ASHAs in the district at the village level for working tirelessly in the process of guiding the community. DC urged them to rededicate and go forward and give efforts for the total elimination of malaria in the district.
The ASHAs of New Puilwa Village, Sailhem Village, & Gaily Village were felicitated with Rs. 5000 along with a citation certificate. Dr. K. Limatula Ao CMO Peren stated that everybody needs to keep the surroundings clean and encouraged to raise awareness and give an effort to control and prevent eventually eradicated malaria in the district. Dr. Hedungkiebe DVBO Peren presided over the observation of World Malaria Day and presented the Malaria elimination programme review and highlighted early Diagnosis and radical treatment and case-based surveillance. He also stated that the ASHA performs tests on individuals in the village or when the patients visit HUs, they are provided with free testing and treatment.
Dr. Hedungkiebe stated that rapid response to any occurrence of malaria cases. He said integrated vector management (IVM) and long-lasting Insecticidal nets 45000 received in 2020 and distributed covering all villages in the district. He also highlighted the reported cases of malaria in the year 2020 reported 3 cases in 2021, o case and in 2022, 1 case. He also highlighted the upcoming activities and stated that the proposed pilot project of a one-day seminar on malaria Elimination for ten selected churches under Jalukie Block and Anti-malaria month is to be observed in June.
