District Administration & District Legal Services Authority in collaboration with the Department of Health & Family Welfare, Brain Health Initiative (NITI Aayog), Mission Shakti (DHEW and SAKHI One Stop Centre), and Mission Vatsalya was held to observe the World Mental Health Day 2025 on the Theme, "Access to Services: Mental Health is Catastrophes and Emergencies", with Deputy Commissioner Kiphire, Temsuwati Longkumer NCS, as Special Guest on 10th October 2025 at DPDB Conference Hall, Kiphire.
Temsuwati Longkumer in his speech said that, we must also create a platform where all the line departments, Stakeholders, Students can talk about the importance of mental health and collaborate with each other to reduce the stigma and mental well being that enables people to cope with the stresses of life, realize their abilities, learn & work well and contribute to their community in harmony with quality of life, self actualization and personal adaptation across all system.
He also said that, Mental Health is very important as it influences physical health and disease prevention which enhances one’s ability to cope with stress and trauma, fosters strong relationship with others, improves productivity and performance at work or school, and enables a person to realize full potential in life.
Deputy Commissioner Kiphire and Tsurenshe L. Reigning Miss Kiphire hand over the felicitation of Poster Making in two categories- Higher Secondary School category and High School category. In the Higher Secondary level, Alumdi Sangtam of Class 12 GHSS, Azila L Anar of class 12 GHSS were declared 1st and 2nd position respectively. While in High School category, Z. Hopong of class 10 GHSS, Tsulula of class 8 GHSS, and Athrise of class 9 GHSS were declared as 1st, 2nd and 3rd respectively. They have been appreciated for the creativity and effort shown in promoting Mental Health awareness through art.
Save Minds Strong Hearts was delivered by Tsurenshe L. Reigning Miss Kiphire 2025.
EAC (HQ), Takatemjen Pongen NCS, Medical Superintendent Wathsutho Nyuthe, Clinical Psychologist District Hospital Kiphire Kedorianuo, Psychologist, Brain Health Initiative Alenria Maria and KDLSA Limkiushi Thongliu, they all emphasized on the objective of World Mental Health Day and raise awareness of mental health issues and to mobilize efforts in support of mental health issues. To raise global awareness of mental health issues and mobilize efforts to support mental well being and to combat stigma, advocate for better mental health care access and services, and encourage people to prioritize their own mental health.
They also emphasized to educate the public even in the rural areas about how common mental health issues are, and their impact on individuals, families, communities or at school or anywhere. Reduce stigma to challenge the negative stigma associated with mental illness, which can prevent people from seeking help, mobilize action, to encourage and mobilize efforts and support for mental health care including better access to services. Advocate for better care, to promote policies and services that ensure everyone can access the mental health support when needed.
The program was moderated by Tsasela (FAO), District Legal Services Authority, while Rev. Imdangmeren Jamir, Ao Baptist Church Kiphire evoked God's blessing and ABF, Ningsangwu Bomrr proposed the vote of thanks.
