Deputy Chief Minister, Y. Patton and family donated an ambulance to District Hospital Dimapur, (DHD) in response to a request sent by the District Task Force Dimapur. The dedication of ambulance was held at the office compound of Chief Medical officer, Dimapur on 3rd June 2021 where the chaplain of DHD, Rev. Yhunlo Thong offered the dedicatory prayer
In his brief address, Patton said, "Today, as we continue our common fight against the raging Covid 19 pandemic, my family joins me in expressing our joy in deep humility to donate one Ambulance to the DHD, in response to a request sent to me by the District Task Force Dimapur”. He was optimistic that the ambulance would be utilised during health emergencies by all the needy, saving precious lives through the service. Y. Patton placed on record his appreciation for the doctors, nurses and all the frontline workers for their selfless sacrifices to humanity in these trying and difficult times. He also appreciated the Nodal officer for Dimapur district, Y. Kikheto Sema for highlighting the needs of DTF Dimapur and DHD.
While noting that Dimapur district has high Covid-19 positive rate, Patton appealed to everyone for working together. We are all affected by the pandemic, so a united fight is essential, he maintained. Acknowledging the many contributions and cooperation rendered by many individuals and organisations thereby strengthening the fight against the pandemic, the Deputy Chief Minister said, "This gives us tremendous hope." He further encouraged all for taking inspiration from one another and also supporting each other in every possible manner and to follow the protocols.
On behalf of DTF and Team Dimapur, Y. Kikheto Sema, IAS, acknowledged and appreciated the kind gesture of Y.Patton and noted that the ambulance was the need of the hour for the people of Dimapur. Lauding Patton, by dubbing him as man of action, the nodal officer recalled the contributions made by Patton and family the previous year by sponsoring special meal to the 1,477 Returnees who arrived Dimapur in the first special train from Chennai besides the frontline workers of Dimapur.
Delivering the vote of thanks, CMO Dimapur, Dr.I. Moatemjen, said that the ambulance would be a big asset to the department and the people of Dimapur. With team spirit, we will overcome the pandemic, he said. The program was chaired by Deputy CMO, Dimapur, Dr. Antoly Suu.
