The 16th Freshers' cum annual day of Unity College was celebrated at college premises Dimapur on 15th July 2022 with Y. Patton, Deputy Chief Minister, Government of Nagaland as Guest of Honour. He was accompanied by Minister of Geology & Mining & Soil & Water Conservation, V. Kashiho Sangtam & Advisor, Department of Power, H. Tovihoto Ayemi.

Speaking on the occasion, Patton observed that Unity College was growing by leaps & bounds over the years with maximum development of the required infrastructures and with the introduction of different departments by the years. He, therefore, urged the students of the college for making the best use of the opportunities. He reminded the students that a student's life was the most crucial period terming it as the determining stage of life for one's future. "It is the time where you get tremendous opportunities to explore the world of knowledge, to prepare yourself to face the challenges of life and define your future and as leaders of tomorrow, a huge responsibility lies ahead of you for creating a better society," he maintained. He urged everyone to have a dream for a better society and to work hard in making it a reality.

He congratulated the Principal and the staff of the management board of the college for producing good results from the students thereby bringing a good name to the institution. He also acknowledged the subject toppers/University Gold Medalists, the graduates, and the postgraduates from the College. Patton also released the College Magazine to mark the day.

On the occasion, Academic Block II was also inaugurated & Library & Computer Resource Centre was commissioned. Deputy Chief Minister unveiled the Plaque of the Academic block II while Minister of Geology & Mining & Soil & Water Conservation V. Kashiho Sangtam commissioned the library and Advisor, Department of Power H.Tovihoto Ayemi commissioned the Computer Resource Centre.

The library with a sitting capacity of 100 people houses around 8700 books covering various disciplines. It is fully air-conditioned and provides internet facilities.

Patton said the library should be open to students from other colleges and universities and also be open to research scholars. It was learned that students from other colleges and researchers also access the unity College library.

The Computer resource centre has 100 computers and the facilities of the computer center are also used during CSIR, UGC, and NTA exams.

Principal Unity College, Dr. Lichumo Enie delivered the welcome note while Alokito and Calvin Chibemo enthralled the gathering with a special rendition.

Presentation of cultural attire from different parts of the state and nation was displayed by students of the college dubbed "Colours of Unity". A vote of thanks was proposed by Imtisangla.
