WOKHA: The District Administration of Wokha, in collaboration with the Department of Youth Resources & Sports, Department of Social Welfare (under Mission Shakti and Beti Bachao Beti Padhao), One Stop Centre Wokha, Bharat Scouts & Guides (Wokha Unit), Nehru Yuva Kendra, National Service Scheme (NSS), and the 24 Assam Rifles, successfully observed International Yoga Day 2025 under the global theme "Yoga for One Earth, One Health", on 21st June 2025. The programme, held with great enthusiasm, was chaired by Anuranjan Singh. Delivering the welcome address, Youth Resource Officer Libemo Jami gave a brief yet insightful overview of the significance of yoga and its benefits for physical and mental well-being. Deputy Commissioner of Wokha, Vineet Kumar, IAS, addressed the gathering with a thoughtful message. He urged the public not to misinterpret yoga through a narrow religious lens but to appreciate its universal relevance. Highlighting yoga’s growing influence across the world, he emphasised its power to promote mental clarity, emotional balance, and holistic health. This was followed by a yoga demonstration session led by Raju Kumar, where participants engaged in guided breathing exercises and posture routines. The programme concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by District Welfare Officer, Wonjano Enny, acknowledging the support and participation of all departments and organisations involved.
