The monthly District Planning and Development Board (DPDB) meeting in the Zunheboto district was held on 13th September 2022 at the Deputy Commissioner's conference hall under the chairmanship of DC and Vice-chairman DPDB, Rahul Bhanudas Mali, IAS.
The meeting began with DC congratulating all the athletes who participated in Nagaland Olympic and Paralympics 2022. He lauded the podium finishers and also equally acknowledged other participants headed by District Sports Council Zunheboto for their sincere efforts.
DPO Zunheboto, David Sema reviewed the previous meeting minutes before moving on to the day’s agendas.
In an agenda on Hukuthu Self Help Group registration, the Board approved for higher authorities.
District Tuberculosis Officer, Dr. Aron briefed the members on Ni-kshay, which is a programme under National TB Elimination initiated to free India of TB within 2025. He further said that the programme provides free diagnosis and medicines and that the patients also need to be nourished. “It has been discovered and proven that there is a significant cause and rise in TB if a patient is malnourished and when a person is diagnosed with TB, there is a certain possibility of malnourishment and the existence of this cycle needs to be broken,” he said. He, therefore, appealed to the Board to contribute to the cause which was further endorsed by the Deputy Commissioner by saying that it is a noble deed to contribute towards the nourishment of TB patients and signed to contribute on behalf of the district administration towards the noble cause.
On the bifurcation of Asukhomi village to Asukhomi New and Asukhomi old, SDO(C) Zunheboto, Athrong said that legalities were all thoroughly scrutinized and said that every requirement was met, which was therefore approved by board members for further procedures.
Earlier, DC apprised the board over the blood bank by saying that all the equipment have safely reached the district and could tentatively be inaugurated by the next week.
