Zunheboto district held its monthly DPDB meeting at DC’s Conference Hall on 10th May 2023 with Zunheboto Deputy Commissioner and Vice Chairman, Zunheboto DPDB, Rahul Bhanudas Mali IAS chairing the meeting.
The Deputy Commissioner reminded all the departments to submit all the central government schemes being implemented by various departments at the earliest as they have to be ready for the Governor's visit in the last week of the month. He also informed that Diksha meeting with the MP will be convened soon and requested the concerned officials to be in station.
Priyanka from Skill Development Ministry read out her report on various awareness programmes to educate the public about various loans and schemes that can be availed by the public especially cultivators, and also gave a report on various possible ways where employment and revenues can be generated.
The Deputy Commissioner also added that various proposals has been sent to the Ministry or Departments and suggested that it will be good if a call center can be set up at Zunheboto, so as to help the unemployed educated youths.
The Board Members also discussed on the issue on putting a ban on hunting and fishing as it destroys and disturbs the ecosystem. SDO (C) Athrong added that various village councils have put forth an appeal to impose a complete ban on hunting and fishing and requested the members to give their opinions on if a blanket ban should be imposed or not. After deliberation, the members agreed to ban fishing of all kinds for two months i.e. June and July 2023 and for ban on hunting, it was discussed that the matter would be taken up in the next meeting.
The Deputy Commissioner informed the Board that State Bank of India (SBI) has given an assurance for setting up of SBI banks at Pughoboto and Atoizu.
