The 13th NAP IR BATTALION emerged as the overall champions from amongst the 32 teams, which participated at the Nagaland Police Duty cum Sports Meet. The meet concluded on 18th November 2021, at the NAPTC Stadium, Chumukedima, Dimapur.

Deputy Chief Minister Nagaland, Y.Patton who graced the event as special guest,  stated that event like Nagaland Police Duty cum Sports Meet helps revive the spirit of oneness thereby renewing the bond of fraternity among the Police families. He said this while gracing the Closing Ceremony of the 39th Edition of Nagaland Police Duty Cum Sports meet 2021, as the chief guest at NAPTC stadium, Chumukedima on 18th November 2021. Patton desired that such event ought to be held with more vigor and enthusiasm with an objective for developing the spirit of healthy competition. "Policing is a very challenging job and can be stressful but with such sporting events, it is bound to improve the physical and mental health and fitness of officers and men alike," Patton maintained. Further, Patton said that Police Meet, besides Games and Sports, exhibits skills in policing in duty items including scientific aid to Investigation, Drill, Weapon handling, wireless communication, Shooting etc.  Stating that Nagaland Police has produced many outstanding sportspersons in various disciplines since the first Police meet held in the year I967, the Deputy Chief Minister said, " It is our earnest hope and endeavour to expose more hidden talents among the Jawans through such meet and nurture them to their fullest potentialities." He said that the present Government under the leadership of Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio,was committed to raise one Nagaland Police Sports Battalion in Nagaland Police Complex, Chumukedima and for which the Foundation Stone has been inaugurated. He also disclosed about the ongoing construction of Astro Turf Football Ground within the complex, with a vision for providing improved infrastructure.

Noting that Nagaland Police has attained a degree of sustainable maturity and experiences in the field of sports, Patton felt that time has come for adopting Sports policies by identifying sports disciplines best suited for the Nagas,such as Badminton, Boxing, Taekwondo, Wrestling etc.

Congratulating all the participants and the organisers for the successful completion of 39th Nagaland Police Duty cum Sports meet 2021, Patton said he was optimistic that Nagaland Police would soar higher in the field of Sports even in the days to come.

Minister, Tongpang Ozukum, DGP Nagaland, T. John Longkumer IPS, Senior Police officers, Retired Police officers other invitees attended the closing ceremony program.

Earlier, Patton took the band salute which was followed by Drill competition final and combined musical presentation by 15th NAP (IR) MBn. Pipe band and PTS Brass Band.

The special guest presented the overall Champion trophy to the winners and declared the Nagaland Police Duty cum Sports meet closed.
