The 2nd Open Football Tournament 2022 Opening program was held at DDSC Stadium on the 6th of September with 15 participating teams, and some of the teams were from other districts. The special guest was Mughato Aye, President of Dimapur District Football Association.

Aye, in his speech, said Nagaland Football is slowly changing with lots of potential and talented players, and some of the players are even playing in different states of India in the big leagues. He also sees a bright future for Nagaland Football Association as it's getting bigger and better and hope that Nagaland Premier League to be revealed by next year with a different name. He encouraged the players not to give up the ambition that has within themselves and try to play in a bigger league. 

In the programme, the invocation was delivered by Imnatoshi Longkumer Assc. Pastor DABA. Welcome address by Vikato Assumi, VP DDFRA, Special number by Chanchithung B. Humtsoe, and declaration of the tournament by the special guest.
