Akashvani Kohima has invited application for engagement of Part Time Correspondents (PTCs) for the Districts of Chumoukedima, Longleng, Meluri, Mon, Noklak, Peren, Phek, Shamator, Tuensang, Tseminyu and Zunhebotoon part time basis. Interested candidate who meet the following criteria may apply for engagement of PTC.

Essential Qualification: PG Diploma/Degree in Journalism/Mass Media or fresh Graduate with minimum 2years journalistic experience; Age limit 24-45years as on last date of application; Should reside at the district Headquarters or within a radius of 10kms from the District Headquarters/ Municipal limit in the concerned district; Journalistic experience to be desirable for candidates in difficult and border areas like North-Eastern States.

Desirable Qualification: Knowledge of computers and word processing; Experience for electronic coverage

Engagement Procedure:

The selection process will involve an interview. Candidates on the basis of qualifications, professional experience, knowledge about district & state, current affairs, awareness of welfare schemes, acquaintance with Radio news, journalistic aptitude, writing skills, familiarization with communication technologies etc.

Engagement of Part-Time Correspondent (PTC) will be on contractual retainership basis. On initial engagement of a PTC, his/her work performance would be monitored for three months. During the first three months, the contract will be renewed on a monthly basis. If his/her work is found to be satisfactory during this period, he/she may be offered renewable yearly contract till attainment of 60 years of age. All renewal of contracts will be subject to satisfactory performance during earlier contract period.

The persons already in govt. service, Central/State Govt. or in any Public Service Undertaking (PSU) and member of any political party will not be considered for engagement as PTC.
