The Deputy Commissioner, Chümoukedima, Polan John, NCS has informed that the restrictions on the transportation, slaughter, sale and movement of pigs and pork from Toulazouma and adjoining villages, imposed following the African Swine Fever (ASF) outbreak, have been lifted with immediate effect.
The order was issued following a recommendation from the Office of the Chief Veterinary Officer, Chümoukedima, which reported no further ASF incidences or pig deaths in the declared containment zone and certified the area free from the disease.
The order further stated that the Veterinary Department will continue strict disease surveillance and routine monitoring. Any suspected case of ASF should be reported immediately to the District Administration for necessary action. All concerned departments, Village Councils and the public have been requested to take note of the order and ensure its compliance.
