Deputy Commissioner, Kohima, B. Henok Buchem, NCS, has issued an order directing all shops and commercial establishments under Kohima town to extend their business hours up to 8:00 PM on all business days, with immediate effect.

The order is being issued in view of the ensuing festive season and with the aim to boost business activity, also instructs business owners and managements to install adequate lighting and basic security measures within and around their premises during the extended hours.

The Deputy Commissioner further stated that law enforcement agencies will intensify beat patrolling and surveillance to ensure the maintenance of law and order and public safety during the extended hours.

Citizens and business owners of Kohima town have been requested to extend their full cooperation for the successful implementation of the directive.
