In view of the forthcoming 76th Republic Day celebrations on January 26, 2026, a coordination meeting was convened on January 13, 2026, at the DC’s Conference Room, Chümoukedima, to ensure smooth and effective preparations for the national event.
The meeting was chaired by Deputy Commissioner of Chumoukedima, Polan John, NCS, who underscored the importance of collective responsibility and inter-departmental coordination in making the Republic Day celebrations meaningful and well-organised.
Addressing the officials present, the Deputy Commissioner informed that a district-wide department social work will be undertaken on January 22, 2026, as part of the Republic Day activities. He outlined the objectives of the social work, emphasizing cleanliness, civic responsibility, and community participation. The Deputy Commissioner also assigned work distribution to various departments, directing them to carry out their respective duties efficiently and in close coordination with one another. And from the 22nd till 25th of January 2026 will be given for parade practice for all the contingents.
