PM Shri Government High School, Yangphi Kiphire celebrated its Cultural Day with great enthusiasm and excitement on 30th April 2025 at Hopongkyu Memoral Hall, and was attended by SMDC members, Teachers, and students. Y. Mhono, Graduate Teacher was the chairperson of the programme.

The program commenced with an invocation prayer by T. Chohose Sangtam and a keynote address by Assistant Headmaster of PM GHS YANGPHI, Lipiri Sangtam who also welcomed the gathering and highlighted the significance of the cultural activities.

A series of cultural activities took placed showcasing the rich heritage of the region. Students presented traditional folk songs from various tribes, including Sangtam, Sumi, Yimkhiung and Tikhir. The cultural activities also includes individual events such as war cries, bamboo gun firing (known as "phoh - phoh - u" in Sangam), five stones, and rice winnowing competition. Many students actively participated in these events, demonstrating their talents and skills.

The Tikhir tribe emerged as the winner in the group folk song category, while the Yimkhiung tribe secured second position.

In her exhortation speech, Lutoli, SMDC member urged the students to study hard and strive for excellence. She also promised to give a cash prize of Rs.10,000. (Ten Thousand) to any student who secures the first position in the HSLC Exam 2026.

The program was attended by ADC, Lichumse Sangtam, District Mission Authority, and Project Assistant, Cholimong paid a courtesy visit during the event. Lipiri Sangtam AHM delivered a vote of thanks.

The program concluded with a Thanksgiving prayer by Mughasheli. The celebration was a testament to the school's commitment to preserving and promoting the rich cultural heritage of the region.
