The Deputy Commissioner & Chairman, Regional Transport Authority, Kohima, B. Henok Buchem, NCS, has issued a notification informing that the newly completed bypass road adjacent to Khouchiezlie Local Ground, connecting the South Gate to the North Gate, has been opened for vehicular traffic (LMVs only) with immediate effect.

As per the order, the bypass road will operate strictly as a one-way route, moving from the South Gate towards Razhu Point Junction via the North Gate of Khouchiezlie Local Ground. Vehicular entry from Razhu Point Junction towards the North Gate of Khouchiezlie Local Ground has been restricted.

It was further informed that all street vendors currently operating near Razhu Point area, NST area, DC Office Road and Phoolbari are to be relocated to designated spaces along the bypass road. The Kohima Municipal Council and the Town Street Vending Committee will manage the relocation arrangements at an early date.

The notification also clarified that parking of vehicles along the entire stretch of the bypass road is not allowed, and that two-wheeler taxi parking at Razhu Point Junction will be shifted to the designated parking area opposite Ozone Cafe.
