In view of the continuous heavy rainfall affecting various parts of the Tseminyu District and the possibility of landslides, flash floods, road blockages and waterlogging. Deputy Commissioner Tseminyu, Japheth Woch (NCS) has informed all the concerned departments, village disaster management authorities, village councils and general public to remain vigilant and take all necessary precautionary measures.
1) Prioritize the safety of life and property in all villages and habitations.
2) Identify and monitor landslides-prone, flood-prone and vulnerable locations and evacuate residents wherever necessary.
3) Ensure that all essential services, including health facilities, power supply, drinking water and communication system remain functional to the extent possible.
4) Keep emergency response teams, machinery and equipment on standby for immediate deployment.
5) Clear debris, landslides and blocked roads in coordination department to maintain connectivity.
6) Disseminate weather advisory and public safety information through all available means.
7) Prohibit fishing, swimming and other activities in swollen rivers and streams until further notice.
8) Village Councils and VDMAs shall promptly report any disaster incidents, damage, casualties or displacement to the District Emergency Operations Centre.
9) All line departments VDMAs and concern stakeholders shall maintain close coordination with the DEOC Tseminyu and report any disaster incidents promptly for necessary action.
10) The District Administration and DDMA, Tseminyu further advises the general public to remain vigilant, avoid unnecessary travel during periods of heavy rainfall.
11) Refrain from venturing into landslides -prone areas or swollen rivers and streams strictly follow the instructions issued by the District Administration and line departments.
12) DC further requested to public not to spread unverified information or rumours that may create unnecessary panic.
13) Incase of any emergency, contact the District Emergency Operations Centre Tseminyu at 7827051943 or informed the nearest administration Officer or Police Station.
