The District Planning & Development Board, Dimapur held its monthly meeting on April 22, 2026 at DC's Conference Hall, Dimapur. The meeting was chaired by Deputy Commissioner, Dr. Tinojongshi Chang, who also proposed the welcome address.
Advisor for Industries & Commerce, Hekani Jakhalu, in her address welcomed officials to the new office at Padumpukhuri and assured that their time there would be both meaningful and memorable. She stated that the colony would always extend support whenever required and that every effort would be made to ensure a comfortable and pleasant stay.
Emphasizing the importance of the board, Jakhalu said that the DPDB is not merely a body for the registration of societies but plays a significant role in governance and development. She highlighted that key decisions are taken at the platform and stressed the need for officers to work collectively, noting that success can be achieved only through mutual support and teamwork. She further underscored the importance of convergence, urging officers to understand each other’s roles and extend cooperation for effective governance.
Gratitude was also expressed to Advisor for Labour, Employment & Skill Development and Excise, and Chairman DPDB Dimapur, Moatoshi Longkumer for the release and formal handing over of the Child Rescue Van, along with its keys and documents, under Child Helpline 1098.
During the meeting, several agenda items were discussed. The board approved and recommended the registration of Tsungchir Education Society and the Dimapur Commissionerate Community Alliance for Resilient Empowerment Society (D-CARE). It also deliberated on the issuance of a No Objection Certificate (NOC) regarding the change of ownership name of Zasisivikho Zakiesato Memorial Higher Secondary School, directing the DEO to provide clarification and verification.
The board further approved and recommended an NOC for the establishment of Asian Mission Institute, which will offer UG, PG, and ITEP courses in Arts, Science, and Commerce.
DC Dr.Tinojongshi Chang informed that Census 2026 would be conducted in June and reminded officers to submit the names of enumerators. He stated that the census process would be app-based and would also allow self-enumeration.
On Sustainable Development Goals (SDG), Chang noted that Dimapur district ranks 10th among 158 districts in the Northeast region. While terming the achievement commendable, he stressed the need for further improvement and informed that a review meeting would be held on April 24, urging all officers to attend without fail.
Highlighting the importance of the Special Intensive Revision (SIR), he described it as a comprehensive, house-to-house, and time-bound exercise aimed at updating and verifying electoral rolls. Officers were urged to create awareness and disseminate information widely.
New members, Dr. Diana Patton, ADC Dimapur, and Khiuzan Kaurinta, EAC Dimapur, were introduced and welcomed during the meeting.
Prior to the meeting, Advisor Moatoshi Longkumer, in the presence of Hekani Jakhalu and Deputy Commissioner Dr. Tinojongshi Chang, formally handed over the keys and documents of the Child Rescue Van to Child Helpline 1098 Dimapur at the DC Office, Purana Bazar on April 22, 2026.
