Information is hereby given to all eligible institutions and organisations under Kohima District regarding the Dr. Ambedkar Scheme, implemented by the Dr. Ambedkar Foundation (DAF), which provides grant-in-aid for the celebration of Birth/Death Anniversary of the Great Saints.

The objective of the scheme is to promote social justice by addressing inequality and discrimination and by improving the conditions of the weaker sections of society through awareness and commemorative programmes. Under the scheme, NGOs registered on the NGO Portal of NITI Aayog and in existence for at least two years, as well as Government and Private Colleges, Universities and Institutes recognised by the UGC or the State/Central Government, are eligible to apply for financial assistance.

Eligible NGOs may avail a grant-in-aid of ₹2 lakh, while eligible Government and Private educational institutions may apply for a grant-in-aid of ₹5 lakh. The grant shall be provided for a maximum of one occasion in a single financial year.

The celebrations under the scheme will be conducted during the period from April 2026 to April 2027. Interested institutions and organisations may apply in the prescribed application format issued by the Dr. Ambedkar Foundation, and proposals are to be prepared accordingly. The application form will be issued by the Development Branch under the Office of the Deputy Commissioner, Kohima.
