In view of the ensuing Republic Day celebrations on January 26, 2026, the Commissioner of Police, Dimapur, has imposed restrictions on the operation of drones and Remotely Piloted Aircraft (RPA) within the Dimapur Police Commissionerate to strengthen security arrangements.

According to an order issued by the Commissioner of Police, Aotula T. Imchen, IPS, exercising powers under Rule 24 of the Drone Rules, 2021, areas within a radius of two kilometres around selected locations have been declared as “Red Zones” (No-Fly Zones). The restriction will remain in force from 2:00 am to 6:00 pm on January 26, 2026.

The locations declared as Red Zones include Dimapur DDSC Stadium, Chumoukedima Samaguting Stadium, and Niuland Public Ground. During the stipulated period, no person shall operate any drone or RPA in these areas without prior permission from the competent authority.
