Eagle Crest Training Academy & Consultancy (ECTAAC) officially launched its brand in an event held on February 15, 2025, at Dimapur with the launch ceremony’s themed: Soar, Lead, Empower, was graced by Deputy Commissioner of Dimapur, Dr. Tinojongshi Chang, NCS, as the chief guest, and District Employment Officer, Gideon Sumi, as the guest of honour.
In his speech, the DC emphasized the need for skill-based employment while addressing the launch of a new brand under Eagle Crest. He congratulated the team and acknowledged their contribution to youth employment through training and placement programs.
Recalling his past association with the brand, formerly known as Emporium, Chang highlighted its role in placing Nagaland’s youth in various international sectors. He noted the challenges of government job saturation, citing a recent recruitment drive where over 2,100 applicants, including graduates and engineers, competed for just 13 Grade-IV posts.
Encouraging skill development as a viable employment avenue, Chang pointed out government initiatives supporting vocational training. He stressed that skill-based training could enhance economic opportunities and self-employment, reducing reliance on government jobs. He also assured continued support as chairman of the Skill Development Committee, pledging collaboration with business associations to strengthen employment prospects.
Chang also launched the company’s official website and alumni association, while the guest of honour Gideon Sumi unveiled the Tourism & Hospitality Training Manual.
Sumi, in his address as the guest of honour, acknowledged his long-standing association with Eagle Crest. He highlighted the critical role of skill development in empowering individuals and strengthening society. Noting the rising demand for skilled professionals across various sectors, he pointed out that many educated yet unemployed youth remain unprepared for emerging opportunities. He commended Eagle Crest for stepping in to guide and equip them with the necessary skills to succeed.
He also expressed appreciation for the institute’s new initiative, the Skill Loan Scheme, launched in collaboration with IDAN Government of Nagaland. The scheme follows a “train, get a job, and pay later” model, which is expected to benefit educated unemployed youth from financially disadvantaged backgrounds.
The event began with an opening prayer led by Alemsunep Jamir, Pastor of World Impact Community Church, followed by a welcome note from Temjenkala Aier, CEO of ECTAAC. Special musical performances were presented by Jettina Jamir and Imliakum Aier.
Discussing the employment scenario in Nagaland, he noted that over 72,000 educated unemployed individuals are registered across employment exchanges in the state. Among them, Dimapur, Chumoukedima and Niuland districts account for a significant portion, with nearly 27,000 job seekers registered in his office alone. With limited government job opportunities and thousands of graduates entering the job market each year, he urged training institutes to continue advancing skill development initiatives.
He emphasized the need to foster a culture where skill development is seen not just as an individual pursuit but as a collective mission to transform society.
Patricia Zhimomi, Vice Principal of CHSS, delivered a speech on behalf of the educational sector, highlighting the significance of vocational training in career development. She commended Eagle Crest for its dedication to skill development in the aviation, hospitality, and cruise line sectors. Recalling the institute’s first interaction with Christian Higher Secondary School in 2018, the speaker highlighted its commitment to employability and professional training.
With 20–30% of the school’s students enrolling in Eagle Crest, the speaker praised its impact on shaping careers and instilling strong work ethics. Parents were urged to support skill-based education over traditional job aspirations, given the competitive job market.
The event also featured video testimonials from alumni and guardians, reflecting on their experiences and the impact of ECTAAC in their professional journeys. The ceremony concluded with a vote of thanks by Allin Awomi, Operations Manager & International Placement Head of ECTAAC, followed by a benediction prayer by Asheli Yepthomi, Aviation Trainer and a press conference with media persons.
