Minister of Housing & Mechanical Engineering, P. Bashangmongba Chang graced the Hok - Ah festival at Langnok village under Noklak district on 17th January 2025 which was organised by Nokhu Range Public Organization (NRPO) under the theme 'Progressive Society'.

In his speech, Bashangmongba Chang while extending the festival greetings, lauded the NRPO for maintaining peace and unity and encouraged them to be the torch bearers which will continue for generations. Stating that Noklak now a district, Chang emphasized the people to maintain good relationships not only with politicians but also with district administration. Chang also advocated self-reliance through skill development programs, noting the limited availability of government jobs. Asserting that people are specifically skilled in making handicrafts, he urged the area range people to polish and enhance their skills.

EAC Nokhu, Menlom Phom in his speech emphasized the importance of viewing the day of celebration as a reflection of hard work rather than just a festive occasion. He encouraged the gathering to learn from experienced individuals and adapt to changes.

Additionally, he stressed the sustainable and judicious use of natural resources while highlighting the need for development in the district.

The President of Khiamniungan Students' Union, Shangchiu stressed that harvest not only associates with agriculture but the progress in other factors too, adding that the festival should be celebrated as a thanksgiving to God for his blessing.

Former President, Nokhu Range Students' Union, Talamong urged the people to receive the Hok-Ah blessings through peace and unity among the people. He requested the leaders of various organisations to inspire the youngsters through their exemplary life.

Earlier, a welcome address was delivered by Pengchang, VCC, Langnok and a special number was presented by Choklangan Public Organization (Folk Fusion).
