His Holiness, Pope Francis, Supreme Pontiff of the Holy See, passed away on 21^st April 2025. As a mark of respect to the departed dignitary and, similar to the rest of the country, State mourning shall be observed throughout Nagaland in the following manner:

1.      Two days' State mourning on Tuesday, the 22^nd April, 2025 and Wednesday, the 23^rd April, 2025.

2.      One Day's State mourning on the day of the funeral (the date of the funeral will be intimated separately).

During the period of the State mourning, the National Flag shall be flown at Half Mast throughout Nagaland on all buildings where the National Flag is flown regularly. There will be no official entertainment during the State Mourning.
