In a partial modification, the Home Department has issued Notification of even number dated 29th October, 2025 regarding declaration of Holidays for the Calendar Year 2026. the Government of Nagaland has declared that in all the offices of the Government of Nagaland. the holiday on account of Id-ul-Zuha (Bakrid) shall be observed on 28th of May, 2026 (Thursday) instead of 27th of May. 2026 (Wednesday) as notified earlier in the said Notification.
Further, in pursuance of the explanation to Section - 25 of the Negotiable Instruments Acts, 1881 (Act, XXVI of 1881), the Government of Nagaland has declared a public holiday on 28th May, 2026 (Thursday) on account of Id-ul-Zuha (Bakrid) instead of 27th May, 2026 (Wednesday) as notified earlier in Annexure-III of the said Notification.
This notification is issued following the Government of India, Ministry of Personnel. Public Grievances & Pensions. Department of Personnel & Training's OM No. 12/3/2023-JCA dated 22nd May, 2026. shifting the date of holiday of Id-ul-Zuha (Bakrid).
