Incessant rainfall has triggered a landslide along National Highway-2, causing significant damage between Phesama and Kisama and leaving several vehicles stranded on both sides of the affected stretch.

Nagaland Deputy Chief Minister, TR. Zeliang also visited the site to measure alternative road on 3rd of May. The district administration of Jakhama Sub-Division, led by SDO (Civil) Veneikho Tetso, NCS, provided some relief to stranded vehicles and coordinated initial response efforts.

Local organizations have also stepped in to assist. Youth members from Phesama Baptist Church and the Phesama Youth Organisation constructed temporary footpaths to help stranded travellers navigate the damaged area. They also distributed tea and snacks to those affected.
