The District Level Programme for the 15th National Voters Day 2025, themed “Nothing like voting, I vote for sure,” was held at the DC Office Conference Hall, Kohima, on January 25, 2025. The event commenced with a video message from the Chief Election Commissioner of India, highlighting the celebration of 75 years of India’s democracy and the record-breaking participation of 64.6 crore voters in the 2024 elections, including a remarkable 65.78% turnout by women voters.
Deputy Commissioner & District Election Officer, Kumar Ramnikant, IAS, delivered the keynote address, emphasizing the importance of voter participation in strengthening democracy. Voting is not just a right but also a responsibility, a way to shape the future of our country and build a better society. He expressed concern over urban and youth voter apathy and urged citizens to actively engage in elections.
District SVEEP Icon, Vihuzo Kense inspired the audience with a story of a 90-year-old woman’s unwavering commitment to voting, calling on everyone, especially the youths, to honor their responsibility as voters.
Best BLO award winner, Lhingboi Singson, shared her journey of overcoming challenges to transform her polling station into an efficient electoral hub.
The program honored outstanding Booth Level Officers (BLOs) for their exceptional performance in Electoral Roll preparation during the Special Summary Revision and Continuous Updation. The best BLOs recognized were Zakiebilie Nakhro (8 Western Angami AC) - Polling Station 25, Dzudza. Lhingboi Singson (9 Kohima Town AC) - Polling Station 20, P.R. Hill Upper. Avilie Sorhie (10 Northern Angami I AC) - Polling Station 25, Pezielietsie. Khrieneituo Metha (11 Northern Angami II AC) - Polling Station 13, Chiechama Phesazou. Zekhovinuo Yietsu (14 Southern Angami I AC) - Polling Station 13, Mitelephe. Ketholel Koso (15 Southern Angami II AC) - Polling Station 1, Viswema Z. Khel.
First-time voters were also felicitated during the event, and attendees took a voter’s pledge, led by ADC & ERO Kohima, Rhosietho Ngouri. EAC Kezocha, Limakumla Pongener, who chaired the event, commended all BLOs and encouraged them to continue dedication in the coming years.
Assistant Election Officer, Chisho K Swu concluded the event with a vote of thanks, and the program closed with the National Anthem.

DIMAPUR
The 15th National Voters Day was celebrated at the DC’s Conference Hall in Dimapur on 25th January, 2025 under the theme “Nothing Like Voting, I Vote for Sure.”
The event was chaired by Zakabo V. Rotokha, Additional Deputy Commissioner, Dimapur, who also delivered the welcome speech. Zakabo V. Rotokha addressing the gathering welcomed everyone. He highlighted that voting is not just a fundamental right but a responsibility that allows individuals to shape the future of their community and nation. He also encouraged all voters to make their voices heard and take pride in contributing to a brighter and stronger future through their participation. He expressed gratitude to the attendees for their commitment to democracy.
The celebration featured the felicitation of winners from the Essay and Painting Competitions conducted in its honor. Imsujungla from St. John College secured the 1st position in the Essay Competition, followed by Priyanka Dey (Pranab College) and Alice Awomi (Unity College) in the 2nd and 3rd positions, respectively. In the Painting Competition, Mhayan Lotha of Unity College bagged the 1st position, with Seema Biswas (Pranab College) and Naiba M. Konyak (Unity College) securing 2nd and 3rd places.
Additionally, the event recognized the efforts of the Best Booth Level Officers (BLOs) for 2025. The awardees included Khekho Sema (Sematilla, Dimapur I AC), L. Talitemjen (Imkonglenden/Circuit House Colony, Dimapur II AC), and P. Akhu Kath (Purana Bazar B, Dimapur III AC).
Dr. Tinojongshi Chang, NCS, Deputy Commissioner and District Election Officer, Dimapur, administered the Voter’s Pledge and delivered a speech emphasizing the need for active electoral participation and the power of every vote.
In his address, Chang congratulated the award recipients and winners of various competitions organized as part of the celebration. He also extended his congratulations to the newly registered young voters, emphasizing their crucial role in strengthening democracy.
Highlighting India’s status as the largest democracy in the world, Chang shared that 99 crore voters are currently registered, with the possibility of reaching the 1 billion mark this year. He encouraged young voters to actively participate in the democratic process and take their voting rights seriously, stressing the importance of electing capable and committed representatives. Chang also called on the youth to act as ambassadors of democracy by spreading awareness among their peers, urging those who have turned 18 but are yet to register as voters to do so. “Each vote counts,” he said, “and together we can ensure a vibrant and strong democracy.”
He lauded the efforts of election officials in maintaining the electoral roll but noted the need to address issues such as double entries, incorrect spellings, and outdated voter information. He urged the officials to continue working diligently to clean up the voter rolls, ensuring a fair and transparent electoral process. Chang reminded everyone that a clean voter roll and genuine voter participation are key to strengthening the credibility of elections.
Chang also administered the voters' day pledge to uphold the democratic spirit and ensure every vote counts.
Earlier the program commenced with the display of a message from the Chief Election Commissioner, Rajiv Kumar.
The program concluded with a vote of thanks by Toshimongba Longchar, Assistant Election Officer, Dimapur, who expressed appreciation to all dignitaries, officials, and participants for their support and contributions. He extended special thanks to the organizing team and encouraged everyone to continue promoting voter awareness.

The 15th National voters' Day was celebrated at the conference hall, DC office Phek with John Tsulise Sangtam, Deputy Commissioner and District Election Officer, Phek as the special Guest.
Speaking on the importance of voting, DC & DEO reiterated on why we celebrate National voters’ day and how it is our responsibility to vote in the right manner and to vote for the right person who has the calibre and responsibility to change the society and the nation as a whole. He also encouraged the young voters to vote for change in the society
Administration of NVD pledge was also conducted at the program, led by Saratho Kaitry, SDO (C) and AERO, Phek.

KIPHIRE
Celebration of 15th National Voters' Day 2025 under the Theme "Nothing like voting,I vote for sure" was held at DC Conference Hall, Kiphire with the DC & DEO, Kiphire, Temsuwati Longkumer as the special guest on 25th January 2025.
EAC & AEO Kiphire, Nitile Tep Chaired the program and administered the Voter's pledge to the officials, BLOs and first-time voters taking the Voter's pledges on 15th National Voters' Day 2025. Invocation was pronounced by Kiutangshi Typist, while distribution of EPICs and Felicitation of BLOs was also held.
The program culminated with a vote of thanks by Lipimong, UDA.

TUENSANG
In Tuensang the 15th National Voters' Day was celebrated at DC’s Conference Hall on 25th January 2025 on the theme "Nothing like Voting, I Vote for Sure" Organised by the District Administration and District Election Officer in collaboration with Akashvani Kohima under BIND Scheme on the theme "India of my Dreams".
Lithrongla Tongpi Rutsa, DC & DEO, Tuensang in her short speech thanked the Akashvani Kohima for Collaboration with District Administration and District Election Officer, Tuensang for making this Programme a success. She stated that India is one of the largest Democratic Governments in the world where one has the Power to elect or reject the candidates during election. She also congratulated the first-time voters and encouraged them to take part in the Election Process where one has a great role to play to elect the right candidate and take part in the functioning of the Government. The Deputy Commissioner also thanked and appreciated the works done by the BLOs in their respective areas to keep the Electoral Roll clean.
Other highlights of the day were invocation by Thrimjangla, Youth Pastor, Yimkhiung Baptist Church, keynote address by Abino Lasuh, ADP and HoP Akashvani Kohima, special Number from Langa Voice and Mütten Hau Tuensang Village, Felicitation of first Time Voters and NVD Message by ECI, Administration of Pledge was led by Er. WOKHA
Wokha District celebrated National Voters Day on 25th January 2025 at the Deputy Commissioner Conference Hall, under the theme: "Nothing Like Voting, I Vote for Sure".
In his keynote address, Deputy Commissioner and District Election Officer, Vineet Kumar, IAS emphasized the significance of this event. He highlighted the contrast between India's democratic system and the political regimes in neighbouring countries, where citizens do not have the privilege of voting to elect their leaders. He also stressed the importance of every voter, particularly the newly enrolled young voters, in taking responsibility for electing their political representatives. He acknowledged the election officers for their efforts in promoting the ideal of equal opportunities for all citizens of India.
During the program, two individuals were awarded as the Best Booth Level Officers: Rentsanthung Yanthan from 37th A/C, PS Niroyo village, and M. Zuchamo Tungoe from 38th A/C, PS Okotso village. Additionally, two newly enrolled young voters, Mhabeni T. Ezung and Oponthung Jami, were felicitated.
A message from the Chief Election Commissioner was also displayed, while the Additional Deputy Commissioner and Electoral Registration Officer, Wokha, Renbomo Ezung administered the voters' pledge. The program featured a special song by Sojano Tsopoe and concluded with a vote of thanks by Extra Assistant Commissioner and AEO (i/c), Wokha, Sangmou Khiamniungan.

MOKOKCHUNG
Mokokchung District joined the rest of the country in celebrating the 15th National Voters’ Day on the Theme ‘Nothing like voting, I vote for sure’ on 25th January 2025 at Deputy Commissioner’s Conference Hall, Mokokchung, organized by District Election office in collaboration with Electoral Literacy Club (ELC) Fazl Ali College( FAC), Mokokchung.
Speaking during the programme as the Guest of honour, L.S Vinod Kumar, Vice Principal, Fazl Ali College, Mokokchung maintained that National Voters Day has been celebrated since the year 2011 under various themes, to disseminate the importance of voting. This year the theme ‘nothing like voting, I vote for sure’ is to encourage all the voters to exercise their fundamental rights to strengthen the democratic process of our country. As a responsible citizen, one needs to judiciously participate in the election process to elect the right representatives for the growth of the nation, he added. He also pointed out that since the youths are the future of the country, they should be aware of the importance of their voting rights.
Deputy Commissioner, Mokokchung, Thsuvisie Phoji in his keynote address called for active participation of all the enrolled voters in the democratic process of the nation. Encouraging the young voters, he said they must be judicious while exercising their voting rights. Underscoring the role and responsibility of the BLOs, he said they are the backbone of the democratic process to enroll and bring out proper electoral rolls for a clean and fair election process.
Additional Deputy Commissioner, Mokokchung, Chumlamo Humtsoe, while delivering the welcome address said the nation has dedicated a day for all the voters in the country because they are the one who decide the destiny of the nation adding that in a democratic setup the power lies in the hand of the voters. Therefore, one must act as the guardian to preserve this sacred role.
Earlier in the programme, a special presentation from Sentinaro, Jamir, a Political Science student from FAC. Guest of honour felicitated newly enrolled voters and administered the voters’ pledge. The programme was chaired by Renben Mozhui, Assistant Election Officer, Mokokchung and vote of thanks was delivered by Dr. Lipokrenla Jamir, Associate Professor, Dept of Pol. Science FAC. During the programme, DC presented the Best BLOs Award 2025 to 10 (ten) BLOs from Mokokchung District.

PEREN
Along with the rest of India, Peren District celebrated the 15th National Voters' Day under the theme: "Nothing like voting, I vote for sure" in great pomp and spirit at PTWWO Hall on 25th January 2025. The celebration was graced by Additional Deputy Commissioner and Electoral Officer, Peren, Keyirangding Hegui as the special guest.
In his speech, Keyirangding Hegui spoke on the significance of the National Voters' Day, and reminded the young electors that the constitution of India has given the privilege, the right for exercising adult suffrage, so one should be responsible and come for voting bravely during every election. He also congratulated all the awardees and newly enrolled electors for their participants. Further, he highlighted the status of the electors of the district and appealed for more enrollment specially the 18-19 years age group.
Peren District SVEEP Icon, Kimkhailiu Pamai in her short speech, encouraged the youngsters to come forward and get registered. She also stated that every vote counts and when we come together, we can make big decisions to change our society.
Earlier, the program was chaired by LDA cum Computer Assistant, Election Department, Chenchuli Apon, while United Baptist Church Pastor, Yansai invoked God's blessing, and a special number was presented by the children of Children's Home, Peren.
The programme ended with a vote of thanks by Assistant Election Officer, Peren, Aketo Shohe. Over all the programme was attended by over 210 from various societies.

15th National Voters' Day 2025 under the theme "Nothing like voting, I vote for sure" was celebrated at DC’s conference hall, Noklak on 25th January 2025.
Speaking on the occasion, DC & DEO, Noklak Arikumba congratulated the awardees of Essay competition, Best BLO awardee & all the newly enrolled young voters encouraging them to exercise their entitlement wisely.
Highlighting on the event, Arikumba shared the importance of educating and spread awareness about the electoral process among friends and students.
He also encouraged all the eligible voters about the enrolment process and advised them to cast their vote for the capable leader who can lead and work for the community. A responsible citizen in a democratic country is essential where voting plays a vital role, he remarked. He urged the youths not only to participate, but to use their votes wisely to change.
EAC & AEO in-charge Noklak, Menlom Phom in his keynote stressed on the importance of voting as a fundamental right granted to all the Indian citizens irrespective of caste, race and colour above the age of 18. He emphasised the need to understand one’s voting rights stating that having voting rights is a privilege at the same time a responsibility. Therefore, he urged every young responsible voter to elect their representatives and exercise their rights wisely.
During the occasion, Best BLO award 2025 from 56 A/C Noklak was awarded to Bengdangjongshi, PT GPS, Chendang Saddle BLO of part no. 14 Chendang Saddle and from 57 A/C Thanoknyu was awarded to S. Pesha, PT GPS, Thonoknyu village BLO of part no. 14 Thonoknyu village.
Yamthong Y, Class 11 of GHSS Noklak, Niakting M, Class 10 of St. Paul School, Noklak and Chapon Y, class 10 of Christian High School, Noklak bagged the first, second and third prizes respectively in the essay competition.
Earlier, the program was chaired by EAC Noklak, Apuloka H Sema and Voters Pledge was administered by SDO (Civil) Noklak, Vikhoko Richa.

TSEMINYU
The 15th national voters’ day was held at DC’s conference hall, Tseminyu on 25th January 2025, with the theme" nothing like voting,1 vote for sure ". The program was chaired by SDO (civil) Tseminyu, Tsidi (NCS) and also administered the pledge.
Runohile Keppen Campus Ambassador, Tseminyu, in her short speech spoke on the theme "nothing like voting 1 vote for sure", where she said that the Indian constitution has given right to every man and woman above 18th years, to exercise their adult franchise freely. Reminding everyone that our vote is our voice, she appealed to everyone to cast their vote with responsibility for a better and brighter future.
DC Tseminyu, Rohit Singh, IAS said vote has the potential to make a difference and it has power to give a better future. He also urged everyone and said participation of all eligible men and women will make the right decision for the future generations. During the program, the best BLO awards, newly registered voters and drawing competition were also felicitated.
