The Office of the Deputy Commissioner, Kohima, has issued an order declaring the stretch of road from Fira Hotel to Assamese Church under Jail Colony, Ward-19, as a ‘No Parking Zone’ with immediate effect.

The order was issued in view of rampant unauthorized parking of vehicles along the roadsides in Kohima town, which has been causing obstruction to the free movement of traffic.

The Deputy Commissioner & Chairman, Regional Transport Authority, Kohima, B. Henok Buchem, informed that any vehicles found in violation of this directive shall be towed at the expense of the vehicle owners and further penalized under Section 179 of the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988.
