The month long celebration of Poshan Maah 2024, ICDS project by the department of Social Welfare Longleng was launched on 3rd September 2024 on the theme "Ek Ped Maa Ke Nam" at CDPO office premises, Longleng. 

            Deputy Commissioner Longleng, W. Manpai Phom NCS, graced the occasion as the special guest. In his address, he encouraged the Anganwadi workers to work diligently and said they should be transparent and accountable so as to benefit the people of the district. He said simple use of the word 'mother earth' in itself speaks volumes. Mothers play a vital role in shaping and building society or a nation, upbringing an individual to the path of prosperity or damnation. Nutritional value of both the mother and child is very important and education is best obtained when a child receives the best nutrition/food and performs to its best abilities.

He further urged the gathering to disseminate information on protecting our mother earth. Protecting our earth is not only about planting trees at a large scale but activities like hunting and fishing should be reduced and it requires the participation of the mass. He also led the Poshan Pledge.

      Brief note on Poshan Abhiyaan and Poshan Maah was highlighted by District coordinator S. Longhong Phom. The programme was chaired by CDPO Longleng, Anuo Longho.
